How we work
All figures come from the U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2019-2023 (ACS 2023 5-year), US public domain. The effective property-tax rate is median real estate taxes paid divided by median home value; the US population-weighted average is about 1.08%. Pages are generated from a committed data snapshot of 3,133 counties using transparent formulas. See our methodology for sources, the exact calculations and known limitations.
Independence & accuracy
We are not a government agency, a lender or a tax-advice service. Our figures are area medians for general information, not your individual bill — always verify with your county assessor or tax collector. See our disclaimer.
